The Lancaster music scene is on fire right now. There are a ton a music related events happening every week around the county, so I invited my friend Sir Dominique Jordan, Lancaster-based spoken word and hip hop artist to join me each month to break down the scene and throw down recommendations on music stuff to check out. This month we’re talking about the Bad Saints Jazz Fest coming to West Art on October 3 & 4, The Wailers, also at West Art on Friday, September 18, and DC-based Oh He Dead at Lititz Shirt Factory on October 9.
Also on the program is Music For Everyone (MFE) founder John Gerdy. MFE is celebrating their 20th anniversary of cultivating the power of music as an educational and community tool to transform lives, schools, and communities all around Lancaster County. John is also part of the Lancaster County Strategic Arts Initiative, which includes a partnership with the Lancaster Chamber, and The Ware Center at Millersville University. The purpose of the initiative is to create a strategic plan for investment in the arts over the next 20 years. Tune in to learn all about these incredible initiatives aimed and strengthening the Lancaster County arts community.
